adhdTerminal is a native macOS app that runs on your Mac. It has no server, no account, no analytics and no crash reporting. This page lists everything that leaves your Mac or is written to it, so you can decide what to turn on.
What is sent to Anthropic
Everything below goes through Claude Code, the claude command you installed, under your own Anthropic account. adhdTerminal talks to no other service.
- Your sessions. Each tile is a normal Claude Code session. What you type and the files it reads are sent to Anthropic exactly as they would be from Terminal.
- AI tile titles (on by default, one toggle in the top bar). At most every 30 seconds the app sends the last prompt and about 1800 characters of recent output from tiles that changed, and asks for a two-to-four-word name. Turn the toggle off and nothing is sent.
- Browser list and identify. The browsers panel asks Claude Code to list connected browsers, only when you open the panel or press a button.
- Setup. The first-launch card runs Anthropic’s own installer and sign-in. Both talk to Anthropic directly.
The update check
Once a day, and whenever you choose Check for Updates, the app fetches an appcast file to see whether a newer version exists. The request carries the app name and version and nothing else: no identifier, no system profile, no usage data. A download you accept is verified against a signing key built into the app before it is installed.
What stays on your Mac
- Open tiles, names, colours, logos, language and settings, in a local state file.
- Files and images you paste or drop into a tile, so Claude Code can read them by path.
- A hooks server on 127.0.0.1 so tiles can show working, waiting and ended. It is bound to localhost and accepts nothing from the network.
Permissions macOS may ask for
Desktop, Documents, Downloads and external volumes, only because the Claude Code sessions in your tiles read and write files there. The app asks for nothing else: no microphone, camera, contacts, location, screen recording or accessibility access.
The website
adhdterminal.com counts page views on our own server so we know which pages people read. It records the page, the referring site, the country and city Vercel derives from the connection, and the browser name. It sets no cookies and stores no IP address: visitors are told apart for one day with a hash that cannot be reversed. Nothing is shared with an advertising network. The app itself never talks to this website except for the update check above.
Payment
Your purchase is handled by our payment provider, who receives your email address and payment details in order to take the payment and send you the download. We never see your card details.
